FAQs

  • We place nurses in multiple U.S. states based on where our partners have current openings. After you apply, we’ll schedule a call to review your background and goals, then match you to roles as openings are confirmed.

  • Yes. Canadian citizens may be eligible to work in the U.S. under the TN pathway as a Registered Nurse with a qualifying job offer. Requirements vary by role and documentation, and we confirm eligibility during intake.

  • We recruit for a range of nursing roles based on current and upcoming openings. Right now, we’re seeing strong demand in senior care/geriatrics, and we also place nurses in other acute and specialty areas as opportunities are confirmed.

  • On average, the transition to the U.S. takes between 3 and 6 months. This timeline varies based on the state you’re going to practice in. Once we’ve reviewed your clinical background and licensing status, we’ll discuss what steps you need to take in more detail.

  • Can you help if I’m outside Canada?
Yes. We work with qualified nurses globally. To apply, you must currently hold any valid U.S. visa (work authorization is not required at the time of application). During intake, we’ll review your situation and discuss the appropriate pathway to lawful U.S. employment.

  • To secure your TN status as a Canadian RN, you must present a physical "Border Package" to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

    The Essentials You’ll Need:

    • Proof of Canadian Citizenship: A valid Canadian Passport.

    • Education: Your original nursing degree or diploma, plus official transcripts.

    • State Licensure: A valid RN license for the specific U.S. state where you will be employed.

    • Health Care Worker Certificate: A mandatory federal credential assessment. While commonly known as the CGFNS VisaScreen®, it is now processed through TruMerit (the new identity of CGFNS) or approved alternatives like Josef Silny & Associates and International Education Evaluations (IEE).

    • Employer Support Letter: A specialized job offer letter that we coordinate for you to present at the Port of Entry.

Important: You must have original physical documents in hand at the border. U.S. Customs and Border Protection generally will not accept digital copies or photocopies.

Don't worry about the paperwork yet. The requirements for these certificates can change, and different states have different licensing hurdles. We will work through this with you when it’s time.
